Patience...

It may look just like yesterdays posts....

but it's progress.

A limited number of clamps and glue drying times, both conspire to draw out the anticipation of achieving what you set out to make.

Inspired...

I was inspired to build this stringer out of scraps after seeing a photo of a guitar neck...

Once all glued it will be a thirteen strip lattice just under an inch wide.

I just need to build a board to put it into now...

Stringer building 101

Plane and cut cedar and balsa scraps, many colours, many sizes...

Add glue...

Clamp...

Stay tuned for next installment with more cutting and gluing..

Recently added to the lineup..

This little paipo is the latest evolution in our paipo line. Balsa and recycled cedar. Convex hull through to a concave, fish tail and flyers. A concave in the deck really makes it sweet to paddle.

Great little board, I surfed it half a dozen times in Noosa, fast and slick. It picked up a few signatures and now is destined to hang on the wall as a display model. Get one like it for $850 NZD

Fish Fry and Noosa Festival of Surfing

It was down to the wire but we got our boards done and polished in time for the fish fry. Good day, good turnout, good sorts, good ideas. Thanks Grant for the fish to borrow for the week.

I'm up at the Noosa Festival of Surfing for the week. Please drop by our stand at the Ours Expo at Surf City between Thurs 18th and Sunday 21st. I'm keen to leave a few boards here in Aus so come by, say hello and check out a few eco friendly fish.

Here's a Sneak Peek...

Also glassing up boards for the fish fry and Noosa...

Somehow life always seems to get super busy whenever board finishing deadlines approach!
Getting ready for Aus in two weeks time is no exception.

Old skool cool...

Glassing a couple of old school skate decks.

These two decks are looking rad. The resin colours are totally popping.

The skate decks are a great small size tester for ideas and techniques that I'm considering applying to a surfboard.

We're GREEN

Our boards are eco friendly...

It's the core value of our business.

We've even spelt it out in black and white.

Logo's

I have drawn up a batch of logo's for the latest boards.

Here's a couple on a solid balsa fish.

Heading South

We're moving south for the winter...way on down to the Catlins

Where the trees grow sideways...

And the rocks look like an old man squinting.

I'll have a workshop space four times the size of my current one.
Here's hoping the glue dries and the resin kicks in the cold.
